Deputies Mark Logsdon & Patrick Dailey

On Wednesday, February 10, 2016, Harford County and the State of Maryland lost two of its finest. Senior Deputies Mark Logsdon and Patrick Dailey lost their lives while serving to protect the citizens of Harford County. While they were sworn to protect and serve they were also fathers, sons, a husband, a boyfriend, nephews, uncles, coworkers and friends. They were real people with families and lives which they put aside every day they put on their uniforms and badges.

Please take a moment to share any stories, memories, photos or words of support for the families and friends left behind by their ultimate sacrifice. While the families are overwhelmed with processing their grief and learning a new reality, this page and all your support and memories will be available to them when they are finally able to fully appreciate how much everyone cares.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, it will be such a blessing to the families of Deputies Logsdon and Dailey.

I don't even know how to convey how much the service of these Deputies means to me and my family. We live in Abingdon and have always felt safe and will continue to do so knowing how committed all these officers are to their duties. Thank you so much for making the ultimate sacrifice for everyone in our community.

I am a fellow law enforcement Officer in Pennsylvania and want to pay my respects to both Deputies Logsden and Dailey. We all know what we are up against every day but endure regardless. When this happens to one of us it hits home. Thank you to everyone for your show of support to both families and the law enforcement community in general.

Patrick Dailey was an amazing gentleman who would always stop by for a friendly chat. He was a very humble man and good-natured. I have known him since elementary school and we graduated together in the Class of 81. He served the Joppatowne community and Harford County proudly. As we are all so very proud of him. I wish his family all the best and hope that they know how grateful we are for his service. God Bless.

My husband and I own the Chick-fil-A's in Constant Friendship and Aberdeen. Both deputies used to frequent our Constant Friendship location. We would see Patrick once or twice a week and he always had a smile for everyone. He was always pleasant and kind. Mark and I worked on several family nights and a golf tournament together. He was such a great influence for the kids...teaching them that police officers are kind and gentle and funny! I will miss their sweet presence in our restaurant. I mourn with the families and pray that God will comfort them in their loss!!

I did not know either deputy but am forever grateful for their service. May their families find comfort and peace in knowing they were true heroes and gave their lives in order to save lives in their community. My father spent his career in law enforcement. It is a higher calling to protect and serve others- I understand the pride and the sacrifice. Families: thank you for your sacrifice. May the memories of these brave men be eternal.

A Great Friend, Pat Dailey: Working for Harford County for 37 years gave me the opportunity and gratitude to have met and worked with Pat for many years... Even when we were not working together, he would stop by to say hi, or grab a bite together around lunch time. Since I retired, I often would catch up with Pat around town and have a little time to catch up... It was always my pleasure to talk to him, such a great guy, Officer, and a real gentleman... He always had a smile and a hand shake, and would leave me with a great feeling of friendship... I will always cherish those moments with this Great Man... God Bless his family and fellow friends...
