Dear Reese and Trace,

I had the wonderful luck to be one of those people that knew your mom for most of her life. We met in elementary school and pretty much were inseparable after that through high school. We played soccer together, but mostly we just hung out together all the time and never grew tired of each other. All the wonderful things about your mom that people have been writing about your mom were true then. She has always been a social butterfly and always been a scrappy girl who took what life threw at her and made the best of it. I have few regrets in life but one is that your mom and i have lived our adult lives too far apart. She was such a good friend (and so was i) but theres no getting around the fact that when times are difficult it stinks to be so far away. Some of my favorite times with judy were in the last couple of years. When she came to california three years ago we sat by my pool and shared ideas on caring on, and my foundation that helps girls around the world. Your mom, sick, found her energy and meaning, in you two, and in helping others. My absolute favorite day with your mom was in paris where we shopped in the marais and got falafel sandwiches and took them to the top of the eiffel tower. She also dragged her 85 pound body up to the top of sacre coeur leaving bert and me behind. Her excitementand energy and sense of fun overcame her exhaustion and she did not miss a minute of the experience. We talked a lot about raising our kids and how aligned we were. We have definite plans for you reese and my ryan to cross paths in the future. Your mom loved you so much and has left you in the amazing hands of your awesome dad and both of their families. I know she will be there watching you and hearing you as you go through the many adventures of your lives. I know her spark and energy and zest for life will guide you and be with you forever. Love, stacey
