We had the honor of meeting Lenny "Batman" at the Candlelighter's tree lighting in DC! He was their big surprise for the kids (they claimed it was bigger than Santa and they were right for my boys!). Aaron and Carson loved seeing kids at these events where we got to honor our daughter Kayla, who lost her battle with Neuroblastoma when she was 15 months old. Lenny came out on stage and their jaws dropped! He made his rounds around the room and personally stooped down to shake Aaron's hand. Aaron was wearing his Batman Converse and Lenny asked him to take them off. He whipped out his marker and signed one of them. Aaron was so excited and that smile lasted for days! He still has the shoes today. On the way out, we got to take a peek into his Batmobile and that was awesome. Us adults knew all the money and effort that must have gone into creating the Batman persona, but to the kids he was simply smiles and magic!! Just what the doctor ordered! :-) Thank you Lenny! Always in our hearts!
